Madonna at the Gaultier show in Paris today

Pandemonium broke out at the Jean Paul Gaultier show just now, when after an hour-and-a-half delay, we finally saw the arrival of Mrs Richie – taking her seat alongside Joaquin Cortes.

Clad head-to-toe in black – black wrap shades, fitted pencil skirt, high boots and high collared shirt – all rumoured to be Versace, but the boots are her Stella McCartney favourites – Madonna looked mesmerised by Gaultier’s trip to the Greek Isles. It was all pantaloons, harem pants, pleats and brocades. For the finale, girls twisted round the venue throwing petals as they walked by but JPG was so busy chasing Maria Carla that Mrs Richie grabbed him by the leg and said, “Hey! What about me?” – to which he emptied the contents of his petal basket over her head and smothered her with kisses and smiles.
