Madonna at the Royal Albert Hall in Into the Woods?

According to a popbitch.com mail out this week Madonna is rumored to be in negotiations to play The Witch in Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” at the Royal Albert Hall in London on October 22nd.

More information about the show is available at the-childrens-society.org.uk – although Madonna’s appearance has still to be considered a rumour at the moment. Our Community member Howiet reports that he has spoken to producer Paul Savident who confirmed the rumour was started by Popbitch.

Broadwaynews.com – that previously reprised the rumour – now reports the following:

“Contrary to a previous report, pop icon Madonna will not play the Witch in the Royal Albert Hall’s gala benefit performance of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods, which will be presented on Sunday, October 22nd at 3 PM and 7:30 PM.”
