Madonna rides into town
She may have opened with “Like A Virgin“, but the former material girl commanded the stage like a queen” – CBS TV47 reports.
“Fan Kim Love says, “She can do whatever she wants. She’s Madonna.”
Monday’s concert features mostly songs from her new album, confessions on a dance floor. The show was quite the production; full of great dance moves, costume changes and plenty of sexually provocative overtones.
Weeks before the concert, crews scoped out the Save Mart Center to prepare for one of the largest touring shows ever.
“It’s a small army, we hire 120 people locally in cities. I’ve got over 200 people to set this show up,” says Chris Lamb, Madonna’s Production Director
Never to shy away from shocking audiences, the 47-year-old also performed a disco style crucifixion. And fans say it was a show to remember.
“The cross was a bit over the top for me but she’s still good,” says fan Russell Harris.
If you’re wondering where what happened after the concert, Madonna flew back to L.A.
She will return for her second show Tuesday afternoon.

They came by foot, by limo and by the busload. On Monday night, they were desperately seeking Madonna.
Longtime fan Charlotte Blevins says, “They say she’s calmed down since she had children, but I think she’s still Madonna.”
More than 30 people from one Merced company got tickets from their boss as a special bonus. They were some serious fans.
Kim Aleman says Madonna has a special place in her heart.
“We walked down the aisle to Madonna’s ‘Crazy for you.’ We’ve been together ever since, we’re very happy, we love Madonna,” says Aleman.
Some fans paid hundreds or even thousands for tickets only to find out there were cheaper seats at the last minute.
The one thing every fan we met agreed on, catching the show is worth the price.
