Madonna Talks to Kirsty Wark
Here’s a short reminder of BBC4 airing the full Madonna interview with Kirsty Wark tonight, Sunday, November 12 at 9:00pm.
The media has been anticipating the broadcast with excerpts and reports, focusing on the part where Madonna dicusses the possibility to go behind the camera and direct a movie. Here’s what Virgin.net reports today:
“Madonna has revealed that she plans to follow in her husband’s footsteps and direct a film, telling Kirsty Wark in a BBC interview:
“From my perspective, you can say very little from a political point of view as an actress. The visionary in a film is the filmmaker so if I want to make an impact with a film, then I should direct one, not act in one.”
When asked if she was going to direct, Madonna said: “I’d like to, yeah.”
The Queen of Pop added that she had a specific idea in mind but would not reveal any details as “I don’t wanna jinx myself”.
However, Madonna said her husband Guy Ritchie has supported her plans to get behind the camera.
Madonna explained: “We’ve had discussions about it and he’s encouraged me to direct.”
Madge also denied that her marriage is in trouble and said: “Well, I think every married couple is rowing. People have been speculating about my marriage since my marriage began and… I’m not gonna lie and say that we don’t fight but I think that’s how it goes.”
