According to an article on French Canadian newspaper “La Presse“, the rumour about Madonna visiting Montréal as part of her next tour keeps getting bigger and bigger. Promoter Groupe Spectacles Gillett would not confirm the rumours, but said that negotiations have been taking place since severl months and that they seem to turning out in a positive way.

“There are good chances that she will come to Montreal in June”, spokeperson Christine Montreuil said.

No contract has been signed yet, reports say, and no official announcement can be done at this very moment, but optimism keeps reigning at the Bell Centre with good hopes of being able to confirm the visit of the Pop Icon at the time her management is going to announce the show schedule next monday.

Madonna hasn’t visited Montréal since her Girlie Show tour back in 1993, when 50,000 attended her show at the city’s Olympic Stadium. Her last tour, the 2004 Re-Invention Tour, chose Toronto as its only Canadian stop.
