Madonna won two Echo Awards tonight

Congratulations to Madonna for winning two Echo Awards – the most important music award in Germany and among the most prestigeous worldwide.

In tonight’s ceremony, which was aired live from Berlin, the Queen of Pop won in both categories she was nominated for this year:
K?nstlerin international Rock/Pop (Best Rock/Pop International Female Artist) and Hit des Jahres (Hit of the Year) for “Hung Up“.

In the Best Rock/Pop International Female Artist category, Madonna and her “Confessions On A Dance Floor” won over Enya’s “Amarantine”, Gwen Stefani’S “Love Angel Music Baby”, Katie Melua’s “Piece By Piece” and Shakira with her “Fijacion Oral Vol. 1”.

The other nominees in the Hit of the Year category were Akon (Lonely), Melanie C (First Day Of My Life), Tokio Hotel (Durch den Monsun) and Xavier Naidoo (Dieser Weg).

Madonna – who was not able to attend the ceremony – won another Echo Award back in 1996.
