Madonna’s Confessions win twice at the Billboard Touring Awards
Madonna won awards in two of the four categories she was nominated for at the Billboard Touring Awards, which were given out last night in the Grand Ballroom at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.
The Queen of the Dance Floor won the Top Boxscore Award – which goes to the top-grossing single engagement – for her $22 million, eight-sellout stand at London’s Wembley Arena on her Confessions tour.
Her managers Guy Oseary and Angela Becker won the Top Manager Award.
Madonna was also nominated in the Top Tour and Top Gross categories – both went to The Rolling Stones’ Bigger Bang tour. The awards were based on box-office figures reported to Billboard Boxscore in the period between December 1, 2005 and September 29, 2006.
Congratulations to Madonna, her co-managers, and her team for the much deserved awards.
