Madonna’s sold-out nights in San Jose
“Though she may not be as creative in her music as fellow chameleons David Bowie or Beck, modern pop music icon Madonna has definitely mastered the art of manipulating her own image” – KTVU.com reports today. “From the urban dance-music appeal of her early hits “Lucky Star” and “Burning Up,” through her sexually charged songs “Justify My Love” and “Erotica,” right up to her more recent electronic efforts, Madonna has kept herself on the charts and in the media spotlight for over two decades.
Her provocative videos, personal life and titilating exploits have often put her music in the background, but Madonna has skillfully developed her arena tours into a bold mix of flashy Vegas-style dance routines and daring visuals verging on performance art. In keeping with the disco-party tone of her latest effort “Confessions On A Dance Floor”, Madonna is upping the suggestive dance quotient of the show. Though she seems more interested in spreading the mystical Jewish message of Kabbalah than controversy these days, the firestorm surrounding Madonna’s onstage crucifiction as a centerpiece to current tour shows Madge can still stir the pot with the best of them. The singer takes her fans on a trip through her back catalogue with revamped takes of her earlier hit songs as well as newer tunes when her “Re-Invention Tour” comes to San Jose for two sold-out nights.
