My tears for Madonna
Thanks to DJPATMTL for sharing his memories from his “Confessions Tour” concerts. Here they are:
“What Can I say? What Can I Do? I’m so in love with you!
That’s exactly what I felt when I came out of my second show that I attended in Boston on Monday.
Now that I’m back on track, I can give my impressions.
I’m from Montreal and I saw her first night in my city. Both shows (Montreal & Boston) were amazing. But I have to say:
Let’s forget about Boston, let me tell you, the crowd sucked big time. At one point Madonna stopped and asked the crowd if they were attending a BBQ! And she asked to some other people why they looked so mad! Half of the arena were sitting on their ass for the entire show! What’s wrong with you? Are you seeing or hearing the same thing as us?
Now let’s talk about the Montreal show! The crowd and the roof were on fire! The city itself was on fire! It was going crazy everywhere and hearing Madonna’s music playing in all stores and restaurants was awesome! After the show I walked back home and people were stopping me on the street asking how was the show and how lucky I was to be there! I honestly never saw that. She completely took the place, even if it was the Grand Prix at the same time.
I came out of the show so tired. I jumped from the beginning to the end (well I sat down a bit for Drowned World / Paradise). I cried 3 times, especially during Live to Tell, when I saw the children orphans from AIDS (I’m HIV+ and it touched me a lot).
People sang every words of every songs. Critics were very surprised of that.
My favorites moments: the entire show!
My little little complaint: not enough group choreographies. The dancers were awesome, they were performing great! But the common of mortals doesn’t understands that, they react to group numbers, not to solos. That’s bad for the dancers because people were almost not reacting to their solos. I’m a dancer and choreographer, I was blown away by each dancers, but I still think that group dancing is much more impressive than solos in that type of dance. I just wanted to say that: You guys rock anyways!
I would go for a third night, but I can’t :o(
I miss her already… Until the next tour…”
