No Madonna at the Parking Night Club, Warner says
Madonna’s record label has denied reports about the singer launching her new CD at a Montreal nightclub during a concert stop in the city. A Montreal newspaper reported Wednesday the launch would take place at a bash in the city’s Gay Village and the American-born singer might attend.
“The story got blown way out of proportion,” Mitch de Palma of Warner Music Canada told the Montreal Gazette.
“An independent promoter asked to put together a launch event for the CD/DVD,” which comes out June 20, he explained. “The artist and management are not directly involved in this event. I can tell you right now, there is no way the artist will be there.”
Le Journal de Montreal quoted de Palma on Wednesday as saying it was a coincidence that the launch of the CD/DVD coincided with the dates of her shows in Montreal.
He also said no location had been picked for the launch and there is only a slight chance Madonna would attend.
“We’re not really that invested in (the launch),” de Palma told the Montreal Gazette.
