Queen of eBay
An article by Mark Oliver on the Guardian today discusses the changes in the way music listeners deal with their collections after the introduction of iPods and the diffusion of legal downloads.
In the article, they report that music fans once known for obsessively assembling their CDs into neat alphabetised rows, are now putting all of their music on to computers, with more and more people trimming their collections – or even getting rid of them altogether to free up space.
Interestingly enough, those CD end up either in charity or get auctioned online, with
one CD sold on eBay‘s UK site every seven seconds, Madonna being the top selling artist followed by Queen, Elvis, the Beatles and Oasis.
