Rock On Madonna
The Confessions Tour now just hours away as I type away. What am I expecting BIG BOLD and BRASH. I want to see Madonna perform in a way she captivated the world during Blonde Ambition and turn that on it’s head to bring us a show stopper that will leave other performers live shows in the shadows for years to come.
I waited a long time to see Madonna perform live, my first time was in 2004 during the Re-Invention tour and although I loved the show and Madonna’s voice I thought it lacked a certain magic that I had come to expect of her performances. For me the biggest let down was the video screens that where used, Madonna and others seemed to get lost in the imagery as they engulfed what was going on upon the stage. Having seen what the set now looks like for the Confessions Tour I feel although more screens have been used, the curvature of them will eliminate much of the engulfing and become part of the show; the catwalks will also add more dimension and depth and also bring the performance closer to the audience.
I also look forward to the set list, by far the most up-beat since Blond Ambition and probably the most crowed pleasing of the latter three tours, Like A Virgin I can’t wait!
The anticipation of this tour for me is more intense then Re-Invention build up ever was, and I am sure the magic will be there along with the glitter balls and spandex jump suits!
Rock on Madonna and Roll on August 1st!
