Saco lights up Madonna’s dance floor
Montreal-based company Saco is lighting up Madonna’s dance floor on her current North American tour.
Saco Technologies Inc., a leader in the design and manufacture of large-format LED video displays, was chosen to provide the superstar’s “Confessions” tour with its Smartvision Video Light Pixels and Displays.
An amazing sight for the eyes, Madonna’s “Confessions” tour soars with
creativity with the use of Smartvision’s latest V9 LED technology. 3 giant
video screens, 16X21 feet, made with over 3000 Smartvision V9 strips are
strategically placed across the stage bringing the Pop Diva to life in an ever
so impressive show. With sold out shows throughout the world, fans in all
seating areas of the stadiums feel like they are up close & personal. High
Definition striking video montages display across the Smartvision V9 screens
during her performance, thematically representing the lyrics of each song.
Another stunning visual element where Saco’s technology is implemented is
the larger than life Disco Ball that is illuminated with hundreds of
SmartVision Video Light Pixels. A real testament to the concept and feel of
the “Confessions” tour. The SmartVision Video Light Pixels can be molded into
virtually any custom and unique shape and application that you could imagine.
As Madonna put it to Rolling Stone magazine in December, “I want to make
people feel like they’re in a disco ball.”
An important player in the use of the SmartVision V9 technology on the
Madonna “Confessions” tour and in the rental and staging markets is Nocturne
Productions. To respond to the ever changing demands of these markets, Saco
combined its efforts with Nocturne Productions to create the next evolution in
LED Video display systems. On this new Smartvision V9 technology, Saco
developed the electronics and new polymer body, the parameters and rigging
expertise was provided by Nocturne Productions and Tait Towers. This way, the
product will be flexible enough to respond to the most demanding designs.
“SACO made the decision to put aside all typical ways of making an LED
video screen. Instead, we took all the ideas that we had accumulated over the
years and put it into this one product”, said Bassam Jalbout, CTO of Saco
Technologies Inc. Designed in fully self contained strips rather than the
typical module, the V9 allows simple custom frames to be constructed rather
than building custom LED systems for every show or concert. The entertainer is
able to re-use the product into several different show set-ups and designs.
“Not only is the product innovative but the business approach is as well.
Saco and Ron Proesel from Nocturne/Vidicon decided to break the traditional
Manufacturer/Client mold and collaborated in every aspect to bring this
product to life. The result is the unsurpassed quality of the SmartVision V9”,
said Fred Jalbout, President & CEO of Saco Technologies Inc.
According to Bob Brigham, Co-CEO of Nocturne Productions, “We could not
be more thrilled with the working relationship we have with Saco. Not only
does the V9 look great, more importantly our clients love it! And those
clients are Madonna, Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
That’s not too bad!”
