Sarah’s Madonna Cardiff concert review
There has been some bad feedback since Sunday’s concert so our reader Sarah wrote two letters to the local newspapers giving her review on the best concert in South Wales and what she thinks of people’s responses since Sunday.
Sarah thought she would send it to our readers’ attention as well, so here it is – thanks Sarah!
“The concert itself was absolutely amazing, seeing Madonna for the first time after years of being a fan was awesome! I never imagined her to look so beautiful in the flesh as she was, tiny, very petite and very energetic and really got the crowd moving with the new songs on her album Confessions on the Dance Floor.
Great to hear some classics such as Lucky Star, Live to Tell, Ray of Light and La Isla Bonita and she sang them as passionately and as vibrant as the first time around.
The whole show was exhilarating and left you breathless and I was on such a high when I left the concert. Paying £70.00 a ticket was totally justified.
Imagine my shock these last few days reading some of the comments on the ICWales website and in the Echo and Western Mail.
What on earth are the people who call themselves “fans” want from Madonna? She put on one hell of a show for everyone here in Wales and that’s all I have heard people moan about is the fact that it was too expensive for the show she put on, she didn’t do an encore and that she didn’t have any respect for her fans to not even say thank you!
If people really paid attention to Madonna whilst on stage she DID THANK EVERYONE FOR HAVING her at CARDIFF on her first Welsh outing!
Everyone had an option to choose to see Madonna at those prices, £150.00 was the most expensive if you wanted to spend the entire show sitting down.
I also read that people were booing when they left the stadium as there was no encore, I certainly didn’t hear that but if that is FACT, then all of you should be ashamed of yourself.
It is due to idiots like you that Madonna could turn around on the next tour she does and leave out Cardiff altogether if she is going to get this sort of hostile reaction from her first concert here, thus you spoil it for the REAL FANS who would pay money to see her again in Cardiff.
Madonna puts on a top notch show and will continue to do so, she is totally and utterly unbeatable as the undisputed Queen of Pop!”
