ShantiGirl’s memories from Paris
Our community member Shantigirl has had the chance to briefly talk with
Madonna during one of the Paris shows of Confessions Tour. Here’s her story:
“I read on the forum a lot of incorrect stories about the shows in Paris… So I
would like to set a few records straight.
I went to the show as usual with my friends Ida and Maurizio. The three of us were front row and we were the only people around us jumping all night when everybody was
taking pics and watching the pics that they were taking – that’s why we got
all of her attention! It is upsetting to see that someone attends shows just to
then tell it to friends and say they made eye contact with Madonna, or that
they have been to 20 shows as if they were running for the Guinness of Records,
as opposed to connecting with a truly inspiring artist, enriching their soul
and mind.
I think the show is a celebration of life, joy,
happiness, energy, positivity. We are there to give and receive her enegy. It’s
all a matter of energy chain!
On September 29 she looked ad me and Ida, asked us if we spoke french and said “we have nice girls here“.
On the 30th she noticed us from the beginning and made a gesture inviting us to start jumping. Of course it wasn’t necessary cause we were jumping like crazy.
In Ray Of Light she said someting like “Allright, what are we supposed to do for this song? Yes, that’s right” pointing at us. We were jumping with our
hands in the air before she would invite the audience to do so.
After I Love NY she said that she loves Paris too and maybe she´ll move there and write a song called I LOVE PARIS.
I screamed “NOOO” and she asked me which song she shoulld write and then I said I LOVE LISBON: she smiled and made a confused face and asked me “I Thought you were Spanish“, and I said no.
Then she stood up and ask the rest of the group and all of us they we were portuguese.
I do not particularly fancy the new rendition of La Isla Bonita, so for that
song I was just watching, not dancing. Just for that song. She spotted me and
wanted me to dance, so she screamed: “Come on Portugal!” We had a blast, definitely.”
