”She was on tonight”
Thanks to M-Tribe contributor David for the first report about the “Confessions Tour” concert at the Glendale Arena in Phoenix yesterday night.
“Here is what was different about tonight’s show…
Madonna said that she had a special request for the management of the Arena to turn the air conditioner off. She said she was usually dripping with sweat by
“Drowned World.” She said “F—” into the mic but muffled before “Drowned World” and mumbled Stuart’s name while laughing.
She talked a lot more and the “Hung Up” sing-a-long went on a lot longer and
she then added spinning your arms (ie. the Hung Up dance) and then shaking
your ass cause she was tired of dancing.
She added a lot of lines, but at the moment it’s all a little bit of a blur.
She said the F-word and MotherF—- a lot more during tonight’s show. I think the rebel in Madonna knows when she’s playing to a little more conservative crowd.
The crowd was better then the LA crowds especially the Staples Center audience.Everyone was really excited and most of the areana stood most of the time.
Her entrance from within the disco ball is still jaw dropping after seeing the show four times now.
She was on tonight! Maybe the best performance of the three LA shows I’ve seen.
Her voice sounded flawless and she just seemed so comfortable with the show
now. She’s really enjoying her and improving a little more. She def liked the audience much more. Rarely asked anyone to stand up.
I couldn’t tell if her mic cut out at the beginning of “Ray of Light” or is she
forgot which verse to go into. My friend thinks she forgot the lyrics.
Wouldn’t be the first time… lol
The big screen did not rise until half-way through “Live To Tell.” And then
when it finally went up it went very slowly. It also did not come down for
“Sorry Interlude” and only came down half-way during the close. Lights
stayed off a lot longer after the close. I knew she wouldn’t but everyone
thought she might be coming back.
The audience was very much different from the three times I saw her in LA. There
were a lot more women and older people.
She seemed to really enjoy saying the George W. Bush line in “ILNY.”
Four people (probably in their 50’s and 60’s) behind us in Section 102 Row 5 wanted us to sit down, even during the dancing parts, and we wouldn’t. They mostly talked loudly and then finally left before the show was half-way over cause they were tired of standing.
Before the show started me and my friend thought we’d just go up to the box office before we went in to see what seats were left for Sat.’s show. We ended up with Floor AAA Front Row Seats 5 6!!! So excited.
This will be my last show (3 in LA and 2 in Arizona) and it’s the perfect way to end a great month of the “Confessions Tour”.
