The Big M in Cardiff
“I attended Madonna’s show Sunday July 30, 2006 at Cardiff Millennium Stadium. I came all the way from New York, just to attend this phenomenal show! I have to say, it was quite an experience that I will never forget.” – M-Tribe reader Brennern writes.
“I chose to go to Cardiff due to the fact that I needed to see Madonna in a different setting outside of the United States amongst a crowd that did not hold back, did not sit or stand there with there arms folded.
I thought to see Madonna in concert in Europe would be fascinating, and memorable, in which it was.”
“As one would be, I was surprised to find out after being there when Madonna told the audience she was thrilled to be there, and it was a special night for her, because it was her first time ever to perform in Wales. I was in shock and so excited to hear that.
So, I left New York at 9:30 pm on Saturday evening on the plane. Six hours later I arrived in Bristol airport. I proceeded on a bus to my hotel in Bristol and dropped off my bags, grabbed a quick shower, changed and bolted out the door toward the train to Cardiff without ever taking a little sleep, for I had no time. It was a one hour train ride to Cardiff.
Got to Cardiff, I had still to go to get my tickets for the return on the bus back to Bristol after the show at 11:30pm. So, I got the tickets, grabbed a quick bite to eat, then went on to get my Madonna ticket and then got on line.
I waited patiently as did many other thousands of Madonna fans for the gates to open at 5:30pm. Then got in the stadium and waited for her opening act, DJ Paul Oakenfold to come on at 7pm. He finished at 8pm sharp. While we all waited for Madonna to come on, fans were throwing a beach ball around the stadium for people to catch. Also doing the hand motion wave. This all helped time go by a bit faster.
Then at 8:45pm exactly, The Big M came on. The stadium roof was closed as I had thought it would have been open, so naturally it got hot, and with Madonna everyone got hot and into it!! People were dancing, singing getting up and doing there thing. She was thrilled to be there, did not hesitate letting everyone of her fans know it also.
Her show was off the charts. Amazing, brilliant, spectacular, and as always ingenious. Two hours of a non-stop Madonnathon, which seemed like an eternity of pure fantastic fun. She is one of the most amazing, inspiring, energetic, talented, good hearted people I know.
Never lets anything get her down, and never lets anything stop her from doing what she wants. Madonna wants it, Madonna gets it. She is the Queen of Disco, and the Dancefloor. Rock on Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone Ritchie.
I will see you again on tour soon!!!”
