As our readers probably know, Madonna wore a “Japanese Do It Better” glitter t-shirt at both her concerts at the Tokyo Dome this week. And you may remember that the shirt was made by a Japanese fan and was borrowed from a member of Madonna’s team for her. Now our Community member and contributor from Japan roccoc brings you the cool inside story behind this very special shirt.

“This t-shirt was created by Kaori aka Emma who’s the organizer of “Madonna Fashion” – one of the Madonna communities of mixi.jp to celebrate the “Confessions Tour” stop in Japan and the first Madonna tour performance after 13 years.

The original design was a solid Black T with white lettering. Kaori also made it for her community members, and one of the her friends, JunJun, thought that it would be even nicer if it the writings were done in glitter and by glueing to the t-shirt some Swarovski rhinestones.

In the process of making the t-shirt, JunJun regretted that it was a very difficult work to put all the crystals on one by one with tweezers – but in the end she did it. And they ended up costing them 10,000 yen (approx. US$90) to make. However, the t-shirts were far more fabulous than she imagined.

Needless to say, diehard Madonna fan Kaori attended all the Japanese shows. She had a seat in the front of the B-stage at the second concert in Osaka, and of course she wore a glitter “JDIB” t-shirt – she also held a limited version of a huge Hello Kitty plush to give to Madonna. When Madonna got down off the stage to get closer to her fans. she noticed Kaori, she gave her a handshake and took the Hello Kitty. Maybe, Madonna might not have noticed T-shirt at that time…
