The World’s Best Pop Artist

The World Music Awards landed in London yesterday night for their 2006 ceremony that took place at Earl’s Court.

The World Music Awards is the only international ceremony with awards decided by the public as opposed to an industry panel. The Awards are therefore a reflection of genuine public opinion and are achieved by record sales figures are reported to the organization by the record companies and the national member groups of the IFPI (International Federation of Phonographic Industries).

Madonna was the winner of the “World’s Best Pop Artist” award. The other nominees in the category were Robbie Williams, James Blunt, Shakira and Justin Timberlake.
