Three nominations for Madonna at the Brit Awards
Singer-songwriter James Blunt and rock band the Kaiser Chiefs each received five nominations for this year’s Brit Awards for music, the U.K.’s top music-prize show, which will also honor rocker Paul Weller with a lifetime achievement award.
The ceremony, taking place on February 15 at London’s Earls Court arena, will feature performances from acts including Coldplay, Blunt and KT Tunstall from Britain, and Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson from the U.S., organizers said at a presentation today in London.
The most nominations in the international categories went to Madonna and Canada’s Arcade Fire, with three each. Here are those of Madonna:
Pop act: James Blunt, Katie Melua, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Westlife.
International female solo artist: Bjork, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott.
International album: Arcade Fire – “Funeral”, Green Day – “American Idiot”, Kanye – “Late Registration”, Madonna – “Confessions On A Dancefloor”, U2 – “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb”.
