V.I.P. Very Important Portrait: a David LaChapelle exhibition in Napoli
David Lachapelle – V.I.P. Very Important Portrait is an exhibition running at the historical Museo di Capodimonte in Naples, Italy, as a parallel to “Tiziano e il ritratto di corte da Raffaello ai Carracci“, attempting to give to the classic portraits by Tiziano a contemporary counterpart in the images by Lachapelle, surrealistic, strange, exuberant, erotic and extreme, impossible and though fascinating which are the mirror of our times; vulgar, caotic, edonistic, and empty.
The exhibition runs from March 24 to June 05, 2006 at the Museo di Capodimonte in via Milano 2, Naples, Italy, open daily 9am to 7pm, and closed on Wednesdays.
Admission is 10 euros (reduced concessions: e Euros. The ticket is both for the exhibition “Tiziano e il ritratto di corte da Raffaello ai Carracci” and to “V.I.P.”, its contemporary section.
