Why aren’t we all together?
When MadonnaTribe first anticipated that “History“, an unreleased song written and produced by Madonna and Stuart Price during the “Confessions On A Dance Floor” sesssion was going to be included on the coming “Jump” single release, many fans started wondering what the song is about and if it actually fits the style and themes of the latest album from the Queen of Pop.
One of our visitors already had the chance to listen to the song, and was very impressed by it strenght and powerful vibe. This is what he wanted to share with us:
“History” looks much more than an outtake or a b-side to me. Actually, we should look at it almost as a manifesto. Many of the themes Madonna approached in her songs throughtout her career appear in this one, almost bare naked and in a very explicit and straight forward way.
“History” is all about our unique chance to take our dreams to the next level, make a change and set a brand new start. Dreams are not for free, but we have the power to make things better.
The song looks perfectly timed to me, I can’t even say if it’s by chance that is has been saved to be released after the “Confessions Tour”, but you will be surprised by how much deeply it looks tied to those speeches Madonna used to have with the audience before performing “Drowned World”, that became stronger and stronger while the tour was coming to and end.
Why are we separated?
Defined by our greed and hatred
Why aren’t we all united?
I’m so sick and tired of fighting!
Why aren’t we all together?
Let’s end this fight forever!
Why we are still divided?
I’m so sick and tired of fighting!
