30 years of German Single Charts

The German single charts, released by Media Control, are celebrating her 30. anniversary. The very first single charts where released on August 29, 1977.
The first no. 1 single was “Magic Fly” from French group Space. The album charts followed in 1978.

Interesting facts: Madonna is the artist with the most singles on the German charts with a total of 54, including the no. 1 singles “La Isla Bonita“, “American Pie” and “Hung Up“.

Madonna also had 8 no. 1 records in the Album Chart. The most No. 1-Albums have Peter Maffay, a German singer, with 12 albums.
