A closer look at ”Live Earth – The Concerts For A Climate In Crisis”
The Warner Music release of “Live Earth – The Concerts For A Climate In Crisis” has finally hit the Italian stores today, Friday November 30, one week after being released in the Netherlands and a bunch of days before the US release date of December 4.
Here is a closer look at the CD/2DVD set coming in a carbon neutral package made of a digipack and a separate booklet.
As the MadonnaTribe readers and fans exclusively learned from this site in August 2007, two Madonna performances have been selected from the Queen of Pop’s four songs act at the Wembley Stadium on 7.7.07.
Madonna opens the tracklist of the Live CD with her performance od “Hey You“, and wraps up the double DVD with “La Isla Bonita” performed with Gogol Bordello.
It is also nice to notice that the live version of “Hey You” is also featured on the DVD as the score of the end credits.
The tracks on the Audio CD are not mixes together and each one has its own fade-in fade-out crowd noise. You’ll also get a tiny surprise at the beginning as the CD starts with the speaker announcing “MA-DO-NNA“.
Extras on DVD2 include documentaries and reportage about the Live Earth concerts worldwide and a selection of short films created for the event.
Madonna’s “Hey You” was one of the 50 short films screened at the Live Earth Day: A Celebration of Earth event at the Los Angeles Film Festival, but infortunately it is not one of the seven shorts featured on the Live Earth DVD.
Live Earth’s net proceeds from the sale of “Live Earth – The Concerts For A Climate In Crisis” will go to benefit the Alliance for Climate Protection, whose mission is to persuade the public about the importance and urgency of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis.
