A memorable Grammy moment
“Most of us can remember at least a few seminal Oscar moments, from conspicuous fashion statements to conspicuous Academy boycotts to inconspicuous modesty during long-winded award speeches” – the Toronto Star writes – “But how many great Grammy moments can you recall?”
A little research proved the Canadian newspaper there have been a lot of fine moments worth celebrating, and here’s the one they picked up about Madonna:
• 1999
Madonna’s Ray of Light grabs Best Pop Album honours, while the title track earns awards for Best Short Form Music Video and Best Dance Recording.
“I’ve been in the music business 16 years,” she says. “This is my first Grammy… but it was worth the wait and all that.”
