Books, books, books
Let’s collect in a short news three books – very different one from another – that for several reasons captured our readers’ attention in the past few days.
“From Mozart to Madonna” by Peter Wicke is a book about popular music and history written in 2001, that has now also been released in Turkish as a 342 page edition – with quite a few good things about M.
“Madonna: A Biography” by Mary Cross is yet another biography book about the Queen of Pop “tracing her ambitious journey from a Midwest upbringing to achieving fame on a global scale” and highlighting “Madonna’s many incarnations-from Material Girl to queen of the disco floor.” The books comes out from Greenwood Press on May 2007.
And last but not least, “The Night Listener” by Armistead Maupin is the book that hawk-eyed fans spotted under Madonna’s arm in last week’s paparazzi pictures of her leaving her London gym. “The Night Listener” is a roman à clef novel based on the real life story of Anthony Godby Johnson published in year 2000, that was turned into a psychological thriller movie starring Robin Williams, Toni Collette, Sandra Oh, and Rory Culkin last year.
