Dining with Madonna
Debi Mazar made her film debut in Martin Scorsese’s blockbuster, “Goodfellas.” From there, she was seen in “Little Man Tate,” “Bullets Over Broadway,” “Batman Forever” and many other Hollywood hits.
Debi, a longtime Madonna friend who was also her make up artist in the early years of the Queen of Pop can currently be seen in HBO’s successful series, “Entourage,” playing Shauna, Vincent Chase’s publicist. Look for her soon in the remake of the 1939 George Cukor classic, “The Women,” alongside Annette Bening and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Debi and her Tuscan-born husband Gabriele also host an online cooking show called “Under the Tuscan Gun” from their home. Their repertoire is genuine, funny and entertaining as they show how to prepare simple, authentic Italian meals.
Steven J. Austin from Fave Foods had a chat with Debi about her passion for Tuscany cooking – and here is the inevitable Madonna-related question coming from their chat.
Steven:You were in several music videos with your friend, Madonna. Did you ever hang out and enjoy meals together?
Debi: “Madonna and I have been friends for 25 years. We have traveled all over the world together. My two favorite food memories are eating in Japan at a formal sitdown meal, where we each had our own Geisha girl, in traditional costume. And another time we had a fisherman/chef cook for a week in Pantelleria, Italy.”
