Donna meets a fan
Here’s a nice story from our reader Justin who has recently opened a fansite for our friend Donna De Lory, Madonna’s long time collaborator.
“Hi, I’m the person who made the Donna De Lory fansite, and I’d like to share my tour story with you guys! I had the privlage of hearing Donna at the Back Bay Yoga Studio in Boston on July 29th. The workshop started with a relaxing restorative yoga class. During the extended Savasana, Donna sang and played the harmonium. Her pure, beautiful voice filled the room and contributed to the the really relaxing atmosphere. Donna was amazing! She played the harmonium the whole time while singing songs. Some of my favorite parts were Hare Krishna, the two short covers of Let it Be by the Beatles and One by U2, Om Nama Shivaya and He Ma Durga, although I loved the whole set. A few times during the savasana, I had to poke my head up to see Donna singing. The whole thing flowed together and all the songs were connected by the harmonium, which made it hard to tell when one song ended and another started. After the concert, I waited in the lobby of the studio for Donna to come out. I was very nervous when she walked out of the room. I approached her and said hi and asked her to sign my copy of her CD Donna De Lory. She said sure and we chatted a little.
We then took a picture together. I was in absolute shock through out the whole conversation that I was actually talking to Donna De Lory. All in all, the whole experiance was incredible. Donna was the nicest person ever and I would love to see her on tour again! Donna, if you are reading this, thank you soooooooo much for everything. You are awesome!”
