First ever official release in China of Luc Besson’s film
French director Luc Besson’s latest, “Arthur and the Invisibles“, premiered in Beijing on Friday. It’s his first film ever to make an official release in China.
The press unanimously chose one question for the filmmaker: Why did it take so long to bring a movie to China?
Luc Besson said “We have aimed at Chinese theaters for a long time. But China imports only 20 movies per year, to protect its own film industry. And we were at odds before. But this time, I’m very proud that Arthur has become one of the lucky bunch.”
