Madonna has penned a new song, “Hey You,” inspired by the upcoming Live Earth concerts around the world. The track, which was produced by the Neptunes’ Pharrell Williams, is available as a free download for seven days from MSN.com. MSN will donate 25 cents for each of the first one million downloads to the Alliance for Climate Protection.
Madonna will also perform the song live as part of her Live Earth set at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 7. The artist has been off the road since wrapping her Confessions tour last September, but is reportedly planning to collaborate with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake on her next studio project.
In addition, Madonna is directing a short film, “Filth and Wisdom,” about which further details have yet to be announced.
