Hey You – The Fans Speak – Part Three
More fans contacted MadonnaTribe to help us cover this special occasion in Madonna caeer when a brand new song from hers was made available as a free download to support Live Earth. Here are some more of our readers’ reviews of Madonna’s “Hey You“.
• To actually take the time to write a review, I have to be moved! “Hey You” is definitely not her best, however it is certainly her best effort to get away from what we all were expecting of her. And she succeeds with style, world-like humility, and a voice re-fulled by the need to inspire.
As many must have thought, Pharrell seemed to be an easy way out, for her to touch mainstream America once again, since “Music” did in 2000. But what she did with this song, and what I hope she does with her next studio album is push those “collaborating” producers to reinvent their sounds. They completely drain their ideas on every artist they collaborate with (one of the reason why songs on mainstream suffer from a horrid plague of mediocrity and repetition). Ex. Hollaback Girl & Promiscuous! Perhaps Madonna is just using their popularity just for name. Perhaps the real producer is Madonna herself. MADONNA, (or assistant to madge) if you’re reading this. Note on next album. It’s not worth another number one hit if you’re going to sacrifice sounding unoriginal, like all other artists. Why do you think Mariah Carey has so many #1’s in the US……anywho, bravu to the Magu!

• After listening to “Hey You” the new musical projection from yours truly “The Queen”, I was overwhelmed to realize she has done it again…
Singing like an angel, true poetry in motion… it is totally appropriate for the cause and well defiantly ring true with anyone who has a heart and soul and a comprehension of what is truly going on in the world today.
Congrats Ms Madonna, as usual you never sell short your artistry and your devotion and passion to a manifestation of a great cause.
Cheers!!!
Luca from Miami.
• I love Madonna’s “Hey You“. It is a beautiful, pretty, catchy song Madonna unselfishly created to help our world.
