Into Someone Else’s Groove

There has only ever been one fully licensed mash-up featuring any of Madonna‘s music with that of another artist. That honour goes to Dannii Minogue‘s 2003 mix ‘Don’t Wanna Lose This Groove‘ – a fully licensed mash-up of Dannii’s ‘Don’t Wanna Lose This Feeling’ and Madonna’s 1985 No.1 smash ‘Into The Groove‘.

The mash featured as a B-side to Dannii’s standard ‘Don’t Wanna Lose This Feeling’ single :

…and according to the publishers involved this was the very first time Madonna had consented to her music being used as a mash-up, and that only came after Madonna heard the mix and decided she liked it.

In live performances promoting the single Dannii was fond of singing the Madonna lyrics as well as her own lines, showing her respect for the Queen of Pop.

Madonna has, of course, previously mashed herself up, with the ‘Into The Hollywood Groove‘ mix from 2003’s GAP advert and Remixed & Revisited EP.
