Live Earth broadcast sets new streaming record
The web broacast of the Live Earth concerts broke the online streaming record for an entertainment show on Saturday, with MSN serving over 9m streams, surpasseing the AOL coverage of Live 8 two years ago, which reported 5m unique users, rather than streams.
Karin Muskopf, MSN product said that they “have exceeded any other online entertainment event. It’s really exciting to see the enthusiasm for the concert.”
She also clarified that “People can stream an event more than once – by switching it on and off – so 9m streams does not necessarily mean 9m people watching”.
