Live Earth: yes, no, maybe
It seems there’s a bit of confusion about the release date of the Live Earth triple album.
As reported first on MadonnaTribe.com last month, the Warner Bros release of “Live Earth – The Concerts For A Climate In Crisis” was pushed forward to December 4, but Madonna’s official website madonna.com also mentioned that the international release date was going to preceed the American one by one entire week and the album would hit the stores on November 26.
The Italian media stores had in fact the CD listed for a street date of November 23 – today, the Friday before the European release date – but the CD/2 DVD set was nowhere to be seen this morning.
Also, online stores such as Amazon and Fnac have updated their listing and are now reporting that the live album and DVD is set to come out between Friday, November 30 (Germany, Italy, and Ireland) and Monday. December 3 (the UK and the rest of continental Europe). Dates that are much closer to the American release (December 4) and more in line with the usual street date pattern from Warner Music Group.
Nonetheless, the album was regularly in the stores today in The Netherlands. So yes, there’s definetly a bit of distribution mess going on out there.
