Madonna in the MisShapes Book
A new photo book about New York nightclub MisShapes was released on September 4 as a collection of fashion portraits taken from 2002 to 2007, representing a singular document of the changing face of fashion in downtown New York City.
The extensive collection of portraits ranges from punk rockers to artists, downtown kids to musicians, DJs, and celebrities with each subject posed amidst downtown New York’s dense and riotous environment.
The 288 page volume, with text by Jarvis Cocker, Sally Singer of Vogue, and writer Legs McNeil, and more than 2,000 images from a number of different photographers and appearances of celebrities, artists and New Yorkers.
Madonna is featured in the book with a 2-page spread with four photographs shot by Miguel Villalobos during her surprise appearance at the NYC club to promote the release of “Hung Up” and “Confessions On A Dance Floor”.
