Madonna Tribute Song – King Of Disco
Akcent, Romania’s biggest boyband have just shot the video for their new single, King Of Disco, which has
a heavy Madonna inspiration.
The band has been already active for more than five years and have five albums released in Romania so far.
They experienced their first international success in 2005 in the Netherlands with a song called “Kylie” that soon became a hit in several European countries.
Their next single was called “JoKero“, a spanish sounding song, which also proved quite successful in some European countries.
Their “cross over” album in English is called “French Kiss With Kylie” and has been released at the end of 2006 in many European countries together with the lead single “French Kiss“.
Near the end of 2006 the guys composed a new song titled “King Of Disco” as a tribute to Madonna, the Queen of Pop and Queen of Disco.
Adrian wrote the song and Marius the lyrics.
The video, which is shot on 35mm film, is also a tribute to Madonna, as it is inspired by her classic “Open Your Heart” music clip.
A Madonna look-a-like, a famous Romanian model, is featured at the end of the video which is still being edited at the moment. Below you can see two photos from the set of the video of the boyband posing with their “Queen of Disco”, kindly provided by the groups’ record label.
