Music Week on Madonna’s ‘Farewell CD” on Warner Bros Records
The current issue of UK industry magazine Music Week reports that Madonna’s final release for Warner Bros will be a greatest hits set spanning her entire 25 year history with Warner Music Group.
The album is expected to form a key part of the label’s fourth-quarter release schedule next year and will follow the new studio album due in Spring.
The magazine reports that sales projections are high, given that The Immaculate Collection sold 30m worldwide.
This week’s issue also features an in depth analysis of the finances behind the deal, including information that Madonna is still signed to Warner/Chappell for publishing rights. The article reveals that Live Nation are expecting to wait “as long as three years” before seeing a studio album under the deal.
