Only when I’m dancing can I feel this free…
One of Madonna‘s first tastes of the limelight came from her appearance in New York band Konk‘s music video for their single ‘Your Life‘. Filmed simply involving hot young things cutting loose on the dancefloor Madonna and her best pal at the time, Martin Burgoyne, were on hand to strut their stuff to the tune.
Typically, being Madonna, she put on quite a show for the cameras and managed to dance up a storm which they used in the final cut of the video.
The release of the single was celebrated at the Danceteria, famously home to Madonna’s big break getting DJ Mark Kamin‘s attention with Everybody. This flyer advertised the launch, on Wednesday June 20th, 1984.
The discovery of this appearance was celebrated on an unofficial DVD but for those who just want to see a brief montage of Madonna’s crazy attention-grabbing dancing from the video – look no further than YouTube HERE.
