Paola and Chiara on Hey You
MadonnaTribe friends Paola & Chiara, the succesful Italian pop duo, are back with a new single. We briefly spoke to Chiara, who is a big Madonna fan, about Hey You, the new charity song by the Queen Of Pop, and the new Paola & Chiara single, titled Second Life
“I downloaded ‘Hey You‘ right away and I think it’s marvelous”, Chiara tells MadonnaTribe. “By listening to the lyrics it really strikes me the concept that before you can say you love somebody else you should really learn to love yourself. And that’s something that is not often easy to do.
The theme of salvation also moves me a lot. By saving yourself you automatically find the strength to save other people’s lives.
It’s a song that gives trust, energy and speaks about how extraordinary life can be if
we make a conscious effort.
‘Hey you‘ is also very beautiful and simple musically…the guitar played in a 3/4 time signature reminds me a lot of Irish music and it also reminds me of our own song ‘Amici come prima‘.
Spaking about thier new project, Chiara says: “In our song Second Life, my sister Paola and I wanted to deal with a similar theme our way. The idea of “new life”, of the re-birth of ourselves is a fundamental theme always present in our songs. Our idea of Second Life is not to run away to a virtual world because we can’t deal
with real life, but it has to do with becoming aware of what we are,
to win the game of life itself in this time, in our time. It’s not an illusion game. A real Second Life can become true if we make the effort to go beyond our own limits, to forgive and let go the past, to learn from the mistakes we have made
and wo wish the best for ourselves and the people we love.
We are very happy with this project. Some lyrics of the new song say:
‘We’ve lost our dreams/in psicothic schemes/war
heroes made their plan/the world burns up in flame’ and again
‘We want more/than the war of our
fathers/and our hearts inside/scream 4 a Second Life'”
The Second Life EP (produced by Trepertre in collaboration with
Michele Monestiroli), will reach Italian stores on June 22 2007 and contains 11 versions of the song (among them a French version). Remixes come by some of the best Italian Djs such as Ricky Montanari,Tommy Vee,Dj Simi&Masterkeys.
The duo’s new album is coming out in October along with a new single titled
“I’ll be over you”.
