Peron’s emeralds for auction
• Emeralds belonging to Eva Peron – Argentina’s most remembered First Lady – have been put up for auction on Ebay. The 250 brut emeralds – totalling 50,000 carats – and a starting price of 4 million dollars, come in a jewellery box President Peron had given to Eva. Included in the auction is a signed letter Eva wrote to her friend in May 6, 1952, expressing her wishes in regards to this collection. The letter is in Spanish but has been “oficially”translated in English, notarized on November 29, 1989 in the City of Los Angeles, California.
