Platinum and Gold singles in Italy
More chart news from Italy. Our team member PierPinto reports about how good the three first singles from Confessions On A Dance Floor performed in the country.
Hung up, Madonna’s first single from Confessions On A Dance Floor, has been certified 2xPlatinum (2×20,000=40,000 shipped). The first 30,000 copies were certified in 2005 but the single kept selling well with an additional 10,000 copies sold in 2006. Hung Up has become the best selling foreign single in Italy in the “2005-2006” two year period.
120,000 legal downloads of the song were counted up until February 2006.
“Sorry“, the second single from Confessions has been certified Gold (10,000) with 15,000 copies shipped.”Get Together” has also been certified Gold in Italy with 10,000 copies shipped.
“Jump“, the fourth single, is not in the chart, probably due to the fact that less than 10,000 copies were actually distributed to shops.
To illustrate this article, here’s a nice photo of Madonna receiving an award backstage in Rome, on August 6th 2005, from the proud Warner Italy staff.
