Ritchie goes digital
As part of its Director’s Cut imprint, Virgin Comics has released a digital version of Gamekeeper, a graphic novel from Snatch director Guy Ritchie. Created with Planetwide Medias Comic Book Creator technology, Guy Ritchie’s Gamekeeper Digital Edition is a 22-page interactive flip book with pages that peel over to unveil a comic book storyline that may be bound for the big screen.
Written by Andy Diggle (Batman Confidential, Hellblazer) with art by Mukesh Singh (Devi), Gamekeeper is an epic tale of espionage that tells the story of Brock, a reclusive, enigmatic groundskeeper who leads a quiet existence on the estate of Jonah Morgan until mercenaries invade the tranquility of his refuge. Set on a path of vengeance, Brock is forced to face the dark events of his past in order to unveil the sinister intentions of the forces that conspire against him.
Gamekeeper is one of a number of comic properties being created by Virgin and leading filmmakers including John Woo, Terry Gilliam and Nicolas Cage.
Issue No. 2 arrived in comic-book stores on Wednesday, and the complete first volume will be available in bookstores in October. The digital edition can be viewed and downloaded at www.VirginComics.com and www.Hypercomics.com. Source: www.animationmagazine.net
