Roses Are Forever
At the beginning of October 2006, when MadonnaTribe gave its readers a look into Madonna’s cauldron for year 2007, you heard that there was not going to be a new studio album of Madonna any time soon in 2007 and what we could for sure expect in the new year were…. more new books, which are something Madonna loves to write and putting together and that many fans around the world enjoy reading and collecting.
The first four books of a new series of twelve “English Roses” stories, that as MadonnaTribe readers know also mark the comeback of the talent of illustrator Jeffrey Fulvimari will be released tomorrow, September 13. Here is a sense of what’s inside each and every new book.
• 1) Friends for Life
This keepsake title is full of intimate details about the English Roses – from each girl’s favorite food to her most embarrassing moment and her secret crush. Extra features include quizzes, study tips, fashion pointers, a British glossary, and even a section for readers to fill out.
• 2) Goodbye, Grace?
Through a series of misunderstandings, the English Roses mistakenly believe that Grace is moving away. But with a few impatient hints from their Fairy Godmother, they come to realize that not even distance can weaken their friendship.
• 3) The New Girl
Nicole thinks her uber-cool pal Leslie, who has just moved to London from New York, will make the perfect addition to their group, but the other Roses are less than impressed. When the annual school talent show rolls around and Nicole chooses to perform with the snobbish new girl instead of with them, the English Roses wonder if they’ve lost their friend forever.
• 4) A Rose By Any Other Name
Charlotte has dreamed of starring in the sixth grade play for as long as she can remember. So she’s devastated when tomboyish Grace is cast as Juliet instead—especially because her own secret crush is to play Romeo! Together the English Roses find a way to make it through the ensuing drama that unfolds on stage and in life.
All books will come with a membership card to access features on an accompanying website, www.myenglishroses.net, which has just been launched.
The books are released on the Puffin publishing label together with Callaway Arts & Entertainment and are available at www.penguinputnam.com or at your local bookseller. Suggested retail price for each book in the US is $9.99.
