Shimon Peres meeting Madonna and Guy Ritchie

In these image released by Israel’s Government Press Office, Israel President Shimon Peres stands with pop star Madonna and husband British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, center, during a visit to the President’s residence in Jerusalem, Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007. These are also the first official images from Madonna and Guy’s visit to Israel.

Madonna and Guy were seen entering the home of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate in Jerusalem after the end of the Jewish New Year at sunset Saturday. Peres gave Madonna a copy of the Old Testament, the Jewish Bible, in the meeting that she requested, Israeli TV reported. The meeting was closed to the press.
