It’s not hard to understand why Madonna doesn’t read newspapers and magazines, when you have a look at what sort of stories the tabloids come up with, just to able to talk about her and her family, usually with some sensational scoop stories.

The latest one comes from today’s New York Daily News where we read – hear hear – about Carlos Leon being not happy that Lourdes, his daughter with Madonna, is losing her American way of speaking.

Sound really outrageousm doesn’t it?

“Just last year, when she was featured in Mom’s concert film, she “sounded like a New York kid,” the newspaper reports. !But at the recent U.K. premiere of “Arthur and the Invisibles” she had “a full-on British accent.”

Leon’s rep didn’t return the newspaper’s call (thank God!), but the always amazing Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s spokeswoman, told them:

“It wouldn’t be surprising if Madonna‘s daughter has some sort of English accent, since she lives in London most of the time. To me, she always sounds a little American and a little British. All this seems perfectly normal to me. What can I tell you, she’s a natural beauty – no surprise there. She’s frankly a very unspoiled and lovely child, and for that I give credit to Madonna, Guy and Carlos.”
