The reissue rumour strikes again
After a very quiet Xmas day for Madonna news, UK tabloid The Sun has published a new rumour on the pages of their newly directed Bizarre column by Gordon Smart.
The newspaper reports of Madonna planning to beat Elvis Presley’s record for the most UK #1 Hit Singles by re-releasing all of her singles next year as digital downlads.
The Sun reports that the massive re-release would coincide with the Queen of Pop’s 50th birthday in August, in a time that they call “a Madgefest” marked with a massive gig in New York to mark the milestone.
This is the second time a rumour about 2008 being a year of Madonna re-issues is reported, the first being a commentary by James Mastersonat www.dotmusic.com, who mentioned a possible reissue programme involving Madonna’s back catalogue next year.
