The Sun on Madonna’s Extras special

Victoria Newton gets back on the rumoured plans to feature Madonna as a guest star on Ricky Gervais’ Extras.

According to her “Bizarre” column on today’s Sun the Queen of Pop is set to star in the big finale of the TV show, and Gervais is writing a special last episode to end the hit comedy – just like he did with The Office. A deal with the BBC and US network HBO to make her Madgesty the show’s main star is nearly complete, Newton also says.

Madonna and Gervais are discussing her role in constant email contact, with the author being keen for her to be his character Andy Millman’s nemesis.

Andy rose from an extra to getting his own TV series and becoming a celebrity – but a run-in with the Queen Of Showbiz Madonna could bring him down.

Madonna and Ricky Gervais have been trying to work together since they met at Live8 in 2005 but tour commitments prevented Madonna appearing in the last Extras series – Victoria Newton also writes.
