Where’s the party?
According to reports in the UK press, Madonna was among the guests of the 70th birthday party for Dame Shirley Bassey at Cliveden House Hotel in Berkshire, last Sunday.
Dame Shirley – who was born in Cardiff on January 8, 1937 – reportedly delayed the party until Sunday night “so that everyone could make it.”
Other guests at the 500,000 pounds dinner included Cilla Black, Sir Elton John, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, Kevin Spacey, Christopher Biggins, Bruce Forsyth, Joan Collins and Honor Blackman.
On the tidbit side, as some of our readers remember, Madonna and Dame Bassey are not only linked by both being the star of a James Bond sountrack song. In fact, Shirley Bassey also covered Madonna and David Foster’s “You’ll See” on her 1996 album “The Show Must Go On”.
