Happy 10th Birthday to Madonna’s Frozen

Frozen, the first single from Madonna’s 1998 album Ray Of Light was first released in Europe today, 10 years ago on February 23 1998.
Co-written by Madonna and Patrick Leonard, the song counted on the producton of producer William Orbit, who completely deconstructed Leonard’s original arrangement and turned it into the magical version we know (a private letter from Madonna to Leonard explaining why she decided not to use part of his work also leaked onto the internet at the time).

The video for Frozen was directed by Chris Cunningham who also re edited some footage from his previous works as video backdrop for the rendition of the song during 2004’s re-Invention tour. The song was also performed live in 2001’s Drowned World Tour.
