Madonna in Athens review and pictures by Efthymios
“Hello Tribers.
I have been to many Madonna concrets, but last night was simply something not even the Queen herself was prepared.
First of all I must give credit to the organizers of the show.
It was perfect. There was no problem with the Hot Tickets. The owners of Hot Tickets entered the vast olympic stadium of Athens first. And trust me the money we paid for them did worth it. Further more there was no problem with the rest of the 74.000 thousand people who entered.
Plus the metro system was working till 2.30 in the morning so everybody could go home easily.
The show started at 9.30. At that moment the crowd did go crazy. During the show there where moments I thought the roof would collapse.
There where times that even Madonna did not believe how well the crowd responded. Everybody was singing and dancing all the time. At the end of “You must love me” we where singing “We must love you” so loud that she smiled so widely and turned to her musicians and commented on that.
She was in a great mood. She was communicating with the crowd all the time. She was smilling all the time and she really enjoyed herself.
She made us sing express yourself twice and she shouted the greek word “opa” at the end of La isla bonita.
Her voice was great and so was her dancing.
I have no more words to discride what we felt last night. It was magical.
PS; The last night show is all over the news today. It has been said by some people that she was singing playback. That is not true. She was singing live 100%. Some background vocals (like timberlake’s words) where playback. But her part was live.
Thank you very much for listening to me.
She you guys on the next Madonna tour :-))))”
